CHRIST Who is Our Life

Jesus said in Matthew chapter 16 verse 25 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" (KJV). This is a very important mystery in the life of a child of God. Apostle Paul acknowledged this when he said in Galatians chapter 2 verse 20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me"(KJV). What does it mean to lose your life for Christ's sake? It means to live by faith in Jesus Christ. It means to live in a way pleasing to Him, studying His word, obeying His commandments and fellowship with Him.

This implies that our existence as a child of God and disciple of Jesus is not for ourselves but unto God. 1 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 20 "For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's"(KJV). As a child of God, you are expected to live as unto God, glorifying Him in every way in your body and spirit. The manifestations of self have to give way for the nature of Christ to be made manifest in your life. As a child of God you are admonished not to conform to the standard of the world but to constantly renew your mind through the study of God's word and fellowship with Him. (Romans 12:2 NLT)

Christ is the life of every born again christian. In Colossians chapter 3 verse 4 we are made to understand that when Christ who is our life shall appear, we shall appear with Him in glory. For Christ to be your life, you have to give Him total uninhibited access to every area of your life(i.e allow him take charge). This requires you to live as Jesus commands in His Word not as your (flesh) natural man desires (Romans 13:14). Jesus said in John chapter 6 verse 53 to 58 "Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Jesus was expressly saying that unless you accept Him and feed on Him (the bread of life: John 6:51), you cannot live as unto God. Christ's nature is imparted through his life in you and feeding on Him (His Word) which are spirit and life. Feeding on the Word of God quickens you i.e makes you spiritually alive because you are imbibing the life giving spirit and nature of Christ.

When Christ becomes your life, you will have a new knowledge of Him as you walk with Him daily. He will provide you with the guidance and direction you need to live a life pleasing unto Him as you study His word. Jesus said in John chapter 6 verse 63 "The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life"(NLT). The words he has spoken to us are in the bible and he says they are spirit and life. For you to make Christ your life(i.e have His life inside of you), you have to study the bible on a daily basis asking the Holy Spirit to teach and grant you understanding. The Word of God is the food of the spirit and it gives life to your spirit as you study and meditate on it daily(consistently). The study of the Word of God and living in obedience brings you into union with Christ.
It is the life of Christ that assures you of salvation and eternal life. It is through the life of Christ that you are reconciled back to God and shall be saved (Romans 5:10).

If you are not in fellowship with Christ, I enjoin you to ask Him to come into your life and Be you personal Lord and Saviour by saying this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, i confess you as my Lord and Saviour. I believe that you died and rose again to save me from my sins. I repent of my sins, forgive and wash me with your precious blood. Save me and make me your own from this moment. Come into my life and help me live in a way that pleases you. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Heavenly Father I ask in Jesus name Amen"

If you are already in union with Christ, always study His word and spend time in His presence. God bless you.
