Whose Servant Are YOU?

Rom 6:16 -19 "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness."

A servant is a person hired to work for another. A christian is redeemed by the blood of Christ and is thus hired to work for Him.It is imperative therefore for a servant to serve the interest of his master. Whoever a person yields obedience to becomes that persons master according to Romans 6:16. Who do you obey? God or the devil? It is very important for a christian to at all times check to be sure his/her actions have God's approval.
It is possible for a person to claim salvation and still execute works of the flesh. Such a person is clearly not obeying God's word implying that he or she has yielded obedience to the devil. Are you manifesting the works of the flesh?(Gal 5:19) Repent and switch your allegiance to doing the works acceptable unto God.

As a born again christian, you have a responsibility assigned by command from Jesus to win souls(Matt 28:19-20). What are you doing in this regard? How many souls have you won to Christ since your conversion?
What are you doing in the House of God? Are you idle? Are you just a bench warmer or a 'Sunday-Sunday' christian? It is time to awake from your slumber to do the masters' business. Join a unit/group. How are you using the gifts and talents that God has given you? Are you using it for your own benefit or for the benefit of the Kingdom of God? Those talents you have were given to you for the propagation of the gospel and the enrichment of the body of christ.(1 Cor 12:4-12)

Are you living worthy of Christ? Is your life a good example unto others?(Matt 5:16) Does your life attract people to Christ? It is important that the life a christian be in conformity with the life of Christ. The name christian was first used for the followers of Christ in Antioch and it means 'little christ'. Are you a 'little Christ' in word and deed?

A christian being a servant of God is by obligation required to live a life pleasing and acceptable unto the Master(Jesus). Our lives should mirror Jesus and others should see Jesus in our lives. We should at all times obey the word of God irrespective of the circumstances because it is the command of our master.
Whoever you obey is your master. When you obey Jesus, it shows that you are His servant, when you do otherwise you become a servant of the devil. Obey Jesus Christ in all things.
